The Trauma & Pediatrics committee is primarily charged with overseeing the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and the Course in Advanced Trauma Nursing (CATN II) that are conducted in Kentucky. We also oversee instructors for all the courses and manage all the administrative procedures. This group works as a team and would enjoy any new RNs who love trauma. The Government Affairs & Nursing Practice committee is charged with monitoring legislation and other issues of importance to Emergency Nursing within Kentucky. The committee works to establish relationships with both state and national Senators and Representatives. It is the committee goal to bring important issues concerning emergency nursing and health care to the forefront in Government operations. The membership committee is charged with increasing KY ENA membership and retaining current KY ENA members. This provides an opportunity to recruit students, current emergency department nurses, nurses who are thinking about working in the emergency department, and current ENA members through fun and social arenas including exhibiting at conferences, speaking at schools of nursing, and visiting local hospital emergency departments. In order to remain consistent with national association practices, the KY ENA has developed the nominations committee. The purpose of this group is to determine the eligibility of candidates for elected office.
