The Trauma & Pediatrics committee is primarily charged with overseeing the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and the Course in Advanced Trauma Nursing (CATN II) that are conducted in Kentucky. We also oversee instructors for all the courses and manage all the administrative procedures. This group works as a team and would enjoy any new RNs who love trauma. Government Affairs & Nursing Practice

The Government Affairs & Nursing Practice committee is charged with monitoring legislation and other issues of importance to Emergency Nursing within Kentucky. The committee works to establish relationships with both state and national Senators and Representatives. It is the committee goal to bring important issues concerning emergency nursing and health care to the forefront in Government operations. If you or someone you know is interested in government and politics as they relate to healthcare please e-mail the chair to help ENA spread the word.

The membership committee is charged with increasing KY ENA membership and retaining current KY ENA members. This provides an opportunity to recruit students, current emergency department nurses, nurses who are thinking about working in the emergency department, and current ENA members through fun and social arenas including exhibiting at conferences, speaking at schools of nursing, and visiting local hospital emergency departments. If you are interested in being a member of this committee and helping ensure the future of KY ENA, please contact the chair.

In order to remain consistent with national association practices, the KY ENA has developed the nominations committee. The purpose of this group is to determine the eligibility of candidates for elected office. The group will gather nominations, determine eligibility, develop list of candidates, distribute ballots, and monitor election results. Please contact the chair for more information.

The Injury Prevention committee mirrors the mission of the National ENA Injury Prevention Institute/EN CARE mission and goals, which are to reduce injury- and violence-related morbidity and mortality by developing, promoting, evaluating and disseminating injury and violence prevention programs for emergency health care professionals.
